Sportvisserij Nederland and six Federations are merging into the Sportvisunie (SVU). HSV Groot-Rotterdam decided that it will not participate in the SVU. That is why HSV Groot-Rotterdam will have its first association card in 2026.

A number of other angling clubs are also not participating in the SVU. Therefore, HSV Groot-Rotterdam is currently working with these angling associations to create a new umbrella organisation in which they want to collaborate. This new partnership does not fall under the SVU. In the coming months, more and more will become clear about this new partnership and what it means for our members. As soon as there is more information on this, we will report it via this website.

Below, we answer some of the questions from members in advance. These questions will be updated regularly.

Important: give your e-mail address to HSV Groot-Rotterdam and save €5.00

If we have your e-mail address, you will receive a digital association card.
If we do not have your e-mail address, you will receive a regular (physical) association card. Since making and sending a regular card is more expensive, you will pay a €5.00 surcharge on the membership fee.
If we have your e-mail address, we can also e-mail you in case of news about the association and collaboration with other associations, and about things like meetings.

How do I provide my e-mail address?

E-mail your email address to ledenadministratie@groot-rotterdam.nl.

You will then receive a digital association card.
If we can also e-mail you if there is news about the association and collaboration with other associations, and about things like meetings.

What about the membership fee for 2026?

In 2026, there will be an association card for HSV Groot-Rotterdam:
- Is your e-mail address known to us? Then you will receive a digital association card after paying the membership fee of €30.00.
- Is your e-mail address not known to us? Then you will receive a regular (physical) association card. Since making and sending a regular card is more expensive, you will pay a €5.00 surcharge on the membership fee. Therefore, please provide us with your e-mail address. You can read how to do that under How do I provide my e-mail address?
For the future, we are working on a 'plus card', together with the other angling clubs that are not participating in the Sportvisunie.
This plus card will allow you to also fish in the waters of those associations.
As soon as there is more information about this, we will report it via this website.

Are you a member and over 13 years old? Then you will receive a payment request for the 2026 contribution on 1 November 2025:

The membership fee is €30.00 if your e-mail address is known to us.
The membership fee is €35.00 if your e-mail address is not known to us. This amount is €5.00 higher because of the extra cost for a regular (physical) association card.
If you have authorised us to debit the membership fee automatically from your account, the membership fee will be debited between 2 and about 6 November 2025.
Have you not authorised us to automatically debit membership fees from your account? Then you have to transfer the fee yourself. You can choose from several options for this. These are in the payment request.
If your e-mail address is known to us, we will send you a digital association card as soon as your membership fee is in our account.

Are you a youth member (under 14 years of age on 1 January 2026)? If so, your membership is free and you will probably receive a digital association permit. There will be more clarity on that soon. Make sure we have your e-mail address. You can read how to give us your e-mail address under How do I provide my e-mail address?

The proposal of the Landelijk Verenigingsoverleg (LVO) states that all youth members (under 14 years of age at registration) can register for free in 2026. There will soon be more clarity on this as well.

Two months before your 14^th birthday, you will receive a payment request for the membership fee of €30.00. Your membership then starts on the 1^st of the month in which you turn 14 and runs for 12 months.

Why do I want to remain a member of Groot-Rotterdam?

Do you fish a lot in the waters of HSV Groot-Rotterdam? Then it makes sense to remain a member. There will soon be two types of memberships:

A permit for only the waters of HSV Groot-Rotterdam. The fee for this permit will be lower than you were used to.
A permit (the 'plus card') for the waters of HSV Groot-Rotterdam and the waters of the other associations not participating in the Sportvisunie. This plus card is still being worked on.

Note: you have until 31 December 2025 to decide whether to remain a member of HSV Groot-Rotterdam. The date of 8 October 2025 that Sportvisserij Nederland e-mailed is not correct!

What about cancelling my membership?

Members have received an e-mail from Sportvisserij Nederland that includes a termination date of 8 October 2025. This is not correct. As a member of HSV Groot-Rotterdam, you have until 31 December 2025 to decide whether to remain a member or cancel your membership.

Where will I be able to fish as a member of HSV Groot-Rotterdam?

With an HSV Groot-Rotterdam membership, you will soon be able to fish in:

the waters of HSV Groot-Rotterdam, the municipal waters of Rotterdam and several other municipalities;
the waters of the other associations not participating in the Sportvisunie. Which ones they are, we will know when the final associations have decided on them in their general members’ meeting or members' council. The overview below shows which waters remain within the membership in each case.

For this, there will soon be two types of memberships:

A permit for only the waters of HSV Groot-Rotterdam. The fee for this permit will be lower than you were used to.
A permit (the 'plus card') for the waters of HSV Groot-Rotterdam and the waters of the other associations not participating in the Sportvisunie. This plus card is still being worked on.

With a membership of HSV Groot-Rotterdam, you can no longer fish in VISpas waters in 2026. You can read more information about this under What should I do if I also want to fish in VISpas waters?

What should I do if I have also want to fish in VISpas waters?

All VISpas waters will be Sportvisunie waters from 25 October 2025.
HSV Groot-Rotterdam will no longer issue a VISpas in 2026.
So you can no longer fish in VISpas waters with an HSV Groot-Rotterdam membership in 2026.

Do you also want to fish in waters of associations that remain affiliated to the Sportvisunie (Sportvisunie waters)? Then you must also become or remain a member of an association that remains with the Sportvisunie. HSV Groot-Rotterdam is working with the other associations to make this easier and more affordable for you.

Therefore, if the Sportvisunie's plans on water sharing and contribution go ahead, by 2026 you will no longer need to buy several VISpasses if you fish across the country. You will then have national coverage with the combination of 2 memberships:

A membership of one of the associations in the new collaboration of angling associations, such as HSV Groot-Rotterdam.
A membership of an association affiliated to the Sportvisunie.

What will the new collaboration of angling associations be called?

A name for the new partnership has not yet been announced. The angling associations that do not join the Sportvisunie are currently studying what the new partnership should look like and what you, as a member, can expect from it. This will become clear in the coming period.

Will HSV Groot-Rotterdam continue to exist?

HSV Groot-Rotterdam will continue to exist as an independent association. Nothing will change in that respect: you will remain a member of HSV Groot-Rotterdam and can continue to fish in the waters of HSV Groot-Rotterdam.
